The ‘Seven Grains’ draws on the folk belief that seven grains gather wealth and that rice is the treasure of the harvest, set within a treasure-bowl form that holds seven loose gilded grains which shift and turn — symbolizing gathered fortune and a turning of luck. Rice signifies sufficiency and a firm foundation; the bowl signifies the gathering of treasure. Cast as an open square cupronickel vessel, it is a clever, lively theme for attracting wealth and turning fortune.

(FAQ) | Frequently Asked Questions
(What is the significance of the ‘seven grains’?)
• The ‘seven grains’ stem from the folk belief that rice is the ‘treasure of the harvest’ for gathering wealth and blessing: seven is a Yang number signifying completeness and growth, and rice is the basis of livelihood, so folk custom carries a few grains for sufficiency and turning fortune. This pendant presents seven gilded grains within a treasure bowl, duly empowered (Jiachi), for that auspicious meaning of attracting wealth and turning luck.
(Are the grains inside the pendant real rice?)
• Inside are seven gold-finished rice-grain forms set in a hollow square bowl that lets them shift, capturing the clever ‘treasure-gathering, luck-turning’ meaning; the piece has been duly empowered (Jiachi). ‘Turning fortune’ is traditional symbolism and heartfelt intention — please view it rationally, as good fortune still comes from one’s own efforts.
